A dreamlike figure gazes out through round coin-like lenses, crowned with a dark top hat that dissolves into a spray of feathers, drips and small blossoms against a deep rust-red ground. Floating glass spheres and cool teal and blue tones play against the warm background, giving this original oil painting by Pavel Filin a quietly surreal, otherworldly mood. The loose brushwork and streaks of running pigment keep the face expressive yet mysterious.
