A woman in a flowing blue dress crosses a sun-warmed meadow, an orange parasol held against a sky already darkening with storm clouds. The loose, energetic brushwork and the tension between the golden field and the bruised blue-grey heavens give this original oil painting by Pavel Filin a quiet sense of anticipation. Impressionist in spirit, it captures the last bright moment before the weather turns.
