Two nude female figures hold one another in a close, intertwined embrace, one gazing steadily outward while the other rests her cheek against her shoulder with eyes lowered. Pavel Filin builds the warm flesh tones with loose, textured brushwork set against a muted grey wall and a deep russet ground, giving this original oil painting a quiet, intimate weight. The interlocked limbs form a single tender shape at the center of the composition.
